Guide · Border crossings · Both directions

Goods trucks between Malaysia and Singapore cross at one of two land checkpoints: the Johor–Singapore Causeway, linking Johor Bahru city to Woodlands, and the Malaysia–Singapore Second Link, linking Gelang Patah in western Johor to Tuas. Aureon is based in Skudai, Johor, close to both, so we route each shipment through whichever crossing suits its pickup point, delivery address and the day’s traffic — in both directions.

What we move

01

Causeway

Johor Bahru city ↔ Woodlands. Direct for central and eastern Johor and for northern and central Singapore.

02

Second Link (Tuas)

Gelang Patah ↔ Tuas. Direct for western Johor and for Tuas, Jurong and the west of Singapore.

03

Chosen per shipment

Pickup point, delivery address and traffic decide the route — not a fixed default.

04

Same paperwork

Export and import declarations are needed at either crossing; we arrange both sides.

In detail

How the two crossings differ

The Causeway is the older, central crossing between Johor Bahru and Woodlands. It is the shorter route for goods collected in Johor Bahru, Pasir Gudang or the east of Johor, and for deliveries to the north and centre of Singapore.

The Second Link joins Gelang Patah to Tuas in the west. It is the more direct route for Iskandar Puteri, Gelang Patah and Pontian, and for deliveries to Tuas, Jurong, Pioneer and western Singapore.

Which crossing will my cargo use?

You do not need to choose. We look at where the goods are collected, where they are going and the day’s conditions, and route the truck through the crossing that gets it there sooner. Pickups from Kuala Lumpur, Penang or further north come down the North–South Expressway and can use either one.

How it works

FAQ

Which is better for cargo trucks, the Causeway or the Tuas Second Link?

Neither is better for every shipment. The Causeway is more direct for central and eastern Johor and northern Singapore; the Second Link for western Johor and Tuas or Jurong. We choose per shipment.

Do I need different documents for each crossing?

No. Export and import declarations are the same at either crossing, and we arrange both sides.

Do you use both crossings in both directions?

Yes. Southbound into Singapore and northbound into Malaysia, through whichever crossing suits the job.
