Guide · Malaysia ↔ Singapore trucking · Both directions

Cross-border trucking between Malaysia and Singapore is a truck collecting goods at your door, crossing the Causeway or the Second Link (Tuas) with export and import declarations on both sides, and delivering to the receiver’s door. It runs in both directions — Malaysia to Singapore and Singapore to Malaysia. This guide answers the questions SMEs ask us most: what sets the price, what decides how fast it arrives, what paperwork you need, and how to book.

In detail

How much does Malaysia to Singapore trucking cost?

There is no single rate card for cross-border trucking, because the price depends on the job. We quote per shipment, and the agreed freight price does not change after pickup.

What moves the price: how much space the cargo takes (a few cartons on a shared truck costs far less than a dedicated 40ft truck); the truck type (box, box with tailgate, open or side-curtain); the pickup and delivery locations; how fast you need it (a dedicated same-day truck versus a daily shared run); and the customs work your goods need on both sides.

To get an accurate quote, send the pickup and delivery addresses, what the goods are, the quantity, dimensions and weight, and your deadline.

How long does delivery take?

Timing depends on where the goods are collected, which service tier you choose and how quickly the customs paperwork is ready. Johor Bahru ↔ Singapore is the shortest lane; pickups further north in Peninsular Malaysia take longer on the road.

If the deadline is fixed, book On-Demand: a dedicated truck dispatched the same day you book, straight across the border with no consolidation. Same-Day runs cover Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur to and from Singapore. Daily shared trucks suit regular freight that is not time-critical.

Example: a construction project manager’s goods were only ready after production, so we collected them on a Saturday at 5:30 PM and delivered them to a Mandai Zoo project site in Singapore the same day.

What paperwork do I need?

Every cross-border shipment needs an export declaration on the Malaysian side and an import declaration on the Singapore side (or the reverse for Singapore to Malaysia). We arrange both, so you do not have to deal with two sets of procedures.

From you we need a commercial invoice, a packing list, a clear description of the goods, and the shipper and receiver details. Some goods also need a permit or licence; tell us what you are shipping and we will tell you what applies before the truck is booked.

Courier, freight forwarder or trucking company?

A courier suits small parcels on a fixed network. A freight forwarder coordinates other carriers. A cross-border trucking company like Aureon runs the trucks and arranges the customs itself, so one contact handles the whole move from your door to the receiver’s door.

FAQ

How much does it cost to send goods by truck from Malaysia to Singapore?

It is quoted per shipment. The price depends on cargo volume, truck type, pickup and delivery locations, urgency and customs work. Once agreed, the freight price does not change after pickup.

Can I send goods from Singapore to Malaysia too?

Yes. Every tier runs in both directions — northbound from any Singapore address to anywhere in Peninsular Malaysia, and southbound into Singapore.

Is there a minimum shipment size?

No. A single carton can move on a daily shared truck; larger loads take a dedicated truck from 10ft up to 40ft.

Who handles customs at the border?

We arrange the export and import declarations on both sides. You provide the invoice, packing list and goods description; we tell you if your goods need a permit.

What are your operating hours?
